It has been a busy week. When my aunt questioned me why I had to go out everyday, I realized, I may have overpacked this week's program a little. So, tonight, as a form of winding down for myself, I decided to "craft" some activities for the little ones. Seriously I love the quietness of the night when every S in the family is asleep.
In the last four years, I have failed so miserably in teaching PK Chinese. This time, I'm hoping I can make miracles in the four months before she goes to school. So a way to motivate myself is to dedicate Fridays to Chinese.
I have got all these stickers left over from Easter. Yes, you have seen me use them for Easter crafts and life cycles. I am using them for Chinese now. Yes!
Found some Chinese song/poem for each of these animals: Duck, Rabbit and Frog. And from there I created some activities like drawing, matching to numbers/colors, counting, etc.
So excited to let the kids do these tomorrow.
Update:
The kids are up and fed and we took the trays to the living area and did the activities. Love these IKEA activity trays - great price, aesthetically pretty and easy to clean. We do almost everything on them now. It offers a good surface to work on if we sat down to work on the carpet and helps to keep mess (like ink or eraser dust) in.
BB loves the sticker activity. No way was he counting with me but giving each rabbit a carrot? No problem.

And of course, the froggie worksheet was too easy for PK. But I'm glad she recognized the Chinese numbers without any prompts.
The activity was finished in less than half an hour. I wish it would take a little longer.
