Letter B, oh letter B, I love the letter B.
We had another letter play date at our home today and it was so much fun. The group is smaller today which means more attention and time to each child.
The boy couldn't wait til his friends arrive to do the activities so he kept himself busy by dotting and coloring away in the morning while I cleaned up the breakfast mess.
These coloring pages were so cute. I printed them and slipped them into dry erase pockets and it becomes something the kids can use and reuse again.
Then we made a butterfly suncatcher using mirror image of letter B template on black construction paper. With contact paper and tissue paper scraps, the kids filled up the butterfly wings with colors.
This is my butterfly boy.
We used half a paper plate to make a ladybug body. So the kids started out painting the paper plate with red paint using Q-tips. Then they paint a black circle for the head.
After the paint is dried, the kids were given black circle stickers for the ladybug spots. With a pair of googly eyes, the ladybug looks really cute. I made the legs for the ladybug using string and letter beads. Each child has their personalised ladybug. It's about time the boy learns to spell his name!
We had storytime before and after the kids crafted and snacked. The books we read today are:
- Polar bear, Polar bear, What do you hear?
So much fun reading books related to letter B!
I also made a brown bag for each of the kids. Brown and bag both start with B. Inside the bag, we had a balloon, a ball, a bangle, a book and a blue crayon. The kids personalised their books with their names and drew with the blue crayons. It was fun. Like a little party favor to bring home after class!
There was also a play corner with bottle caps, butterfly wings, tutus and more balls. I could have a sensory bin with beads or beans but I wasn't ready for the mess, so we skipped it.
So looking forward to the next play date with letter C!
