Following this post I saw this morning, the kids and I decided to give this craft a try today. It turned out to be really easy as I excepted.
I got the girl to draw some big leaf shape on the drawing paper, and helped her cut up painter's tape for the leaf veins. Then they started painting their leaves. I haven't used paintbrushes for acrylic painting for a long time just because washing is such a chore. We just use Q-tips. Even the palette is something I was going to toss/recycle. This makes cleaning up really easy.
The boy was just playing with the paint. Looking at his strokes, you know he is not a serious artist (not yet, I hope).
The girl, on the other hand, takes every single craft seriously. I love that attitude.
After the paint dried up, we peeled off the painter's tape and cut out the leaves shapes. It turned out to be a very lovely fall leaves garland on our art wall.
