These days, we are doing our art on the floor that almost every picture I took of them working on the art shows a foot or two. Today we did glue resist art on canvas.
I had the girl squeeze out the glue and make her Chinese name. Can you figure it out?
Of course, this was during BB naptime such that I can do one for him beautifully and peacefully.
And then he woke up and saw the glue and wanted to do it too! A lot of finger-strengthening skills going on there!
We left the canvas out in the sun to dry and it was ready in a couple of hours.
We used watercolors and the colors go on and around the glue beautifully. As mentioned here, the watercolors didn't run off like how a resist art would do but held on to the colors stronger like concentrating the colors around the glued areas. We tried glue resist on paper before and the color never show on the glue. This is glue resist on paper we did in October 2014.
As you can see the lines of the glitter glue very clearly with no color on it.
But today's art on canvas showed colors on the glue. Here's PK's artwork:
And the three of us work on this together for BB:
This is yet another easy art to do. I'm already along a list of projects to do/rotate so that she has an after-school art activity every day. Can't wait for kindergarten!
