Easter is next Sunday and although we are not religious about it, I think it is fun to let the kids enjoy some Easter egg crafts.
I was going to purchase some wooden eggs from the local craft store although I know they also sell it online. But there weren't many wooden egg choices at the store today. Instead I found some chalkboard eggs on sale. There were the regular black-painted ones but I bought these pastel-colored ones and the kids love it! It is not wooden, feels a little like ceramic, which actually means it is possibly breakable. But the colors are beautiful and the color doesn't run when wiped with wet cloth. BB dropped the eggs a few times with no breakage.
We started with painting the eggs with acrylic paint. It wasn't easy painting on a curved surface for PK because she is such a perfectionist that abstract art is not good enough for her. But for BB, there is no issues. Dots, or lines, or splatter, works just well for him as long as he gets to hold the paintbrush too.
There are half a dozen eggs for each of them and we didn't finish all before bath. So after bath, the kids finished the decoration using stickers.
The blue egg BB is holding above is painted in rainbow colors as I turned the egg as he dripped the paint on it.
The pink egg PK is touching below is fingerprinted with her pinkie to make a heart.
Our Easter eggs for the year, and many years to come too.
As you can see, I'm trying to coordinate an Easter shoot in pjs. Not a very successful photographer in training but this one below is my favorite.
