When I saw these foam pumpkins at the Dollar Store today, I knew I have to get them! PK chose painting over bubbles when I asked her what she wanted to do after lunch. And when she realized it's not painting on paper or canvas, she was all excited. This is a simple project if you do not have a BB who also want to have a part and eat some glitter.
You will need:
- pumpkin (real ones or foam ones)
- acrylic paint
- glitter
- glue
- paint brushes
Steps:
1. Paint the pumpkin with acrylic paint in the color of your choice. You can also leave it in its original color.
2. After the paint is dry (you may need 2-4 coats of paint to cover the color of the pumpkin), spread some glue on the bottom of the pumpkin.
3. Let your child sprinkle glitter generously on the glue. A big art tray is helpful to collect the remaining glitter.
4. Let dry and you have your very own painted glitter pumpkin.
PK insisted that I take a picture of her sparkly hands. And she has named the two pumpkins...
There are many possible designs of decorated pumpkins if your child is not into glitter (and/or princesses).
