We visited Happy Hollow Park & Zoo thrice last week! PK loves that place and so do I. But after a year of membership at HHPZ, we decided it's time to try something new and get a different mbership this year. To round up awhile year of fun, I decided to write a post about it.
After you enter the premises of HHPZ, you will be greeted by the happy sound playing on the Keep-Around Carousel. This is a hot favorite in our family because the Mommy loves it very much too! The carousel features special endangered animals and it's much more fun riding on animals than just fancy horses.
PK's current favorite is the fairy horse which happens to be beside the elephant that BB loves. There was a time that PK would only sit on the tiger.
There was also a time when PK needs to have a standing companion.
And BB can only sit on the bench.
Yes, it has been a year.
Next up, we always go to the Mini Putts. It is an easy ride that any child can ride in it by himself as long as he can sit. They recently added the bells for the police cars too so now, there is no more preference over the fire trucks which always have those bells.
Granny Bugs is a more bumpy ride for the younger kids and I should have put BB on the inside because he was swaying to the side as the ride turned. Still, an enjoyable ride for the kids. Big sister is showing her TLC by holding on to Li'l brother's hand.
At this Giggle Grove, there is also the Kiddie Swings and Frog Hopper. PK loves the former but not the latter. BB hasn't reach the height limit for both yet. What should I say, the swings go round and round. And the the froggie hops up and down.
PK doesn't like the thrill on the roller coaster so we haven't been on it for a long time. On some days, we would sit on Danny the Dragon and have a slow ride round the woods. But most of the time, we played at the playground. The playground features two very tall slides that are very exciting for kids and adults. The rope obstacles on the playground are challenges that PK has finally mastered after a year of practice.
We have gone to see the animals a couple of times but we are usually at HHPZ for the rides. On our way out, we would stop by this hammock swing that is big enough to fit Daddy and the kids.
I have been on it with the kids. It's a relaxing swing just staring at the tree branches against the blue cloudless sky. And there are occasional birds that flew in the sky. I thought I spotted an eagle the other day.
So this is HHPZ. It's a happy wonderful awesome place to hang out. We will come back some day.
