So we set up the busy boxes the day before and today she wanted to do one of them. Alright, why not? She took out Thursday and started playing immediately.
What's in the box?
- foam beads
- pom poms
- Easter egg tongs
- cups
- spoons
- forks
- chopsticks
- picks
This is the first thing she did. She really wanted to master the chopsticks but I didn't really give her a chance. Guess this is it. Not the right way of holding chopsticks? Who cares? At 30, I still cross my chopsticks at mealtimes. She is only 4.
I left her alone for half an hour or more because I was putting the boy to nap. When I came back, the dining table was the new play table. She thought outside the box (literally) and found water bottle, bib, snack bowl (with snacks in it still!) to be possible play toys too.
After she was done, she looked through all the other boxes and wanted a different box. Then she said, this box was not so much fun. Seriously? She was at it for an hour by now. Not fun? Alrighty. Fun things should last longer than a hour then!
P.S. This box has no instructions. It's basically free play. When she was packing this for me, she pretended the beads to be play food. That's kind of fun too :)
