Yes, we finally made it to get a picture with Santa. And it's a family picture too :) love it.
Although I'm not a big fan of Santa, and in our family (then and now), Santa never brings gifts. When I heard about Santa, I was old enough to know that this poor guy can't deliver so many gifts in one night. As for PK, she hasn't really questioned about who this guy is and his existence. My guess is that she sees him like any other fictional figures she knows, like Mickey or Cinderella or Elsa. It's a dress-up. And we never, in the past four years, tell her on Christmas morning that Santa has brought a gift. Any gifts, if any at all, will be presented to her as from mommy or daddy or someone she knows in person. I think it makes sense to me not to lie about who got the present for her. And if I were to tell her about Santa, I would make it up as fantasy as possible with the elf workshops, and reindeers flying in the sky, and Santa coming down the chimney witha HUGE bag of presents. Just like how I tell the story of Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell, Frozen... Everything being so fairy tale, there is no need to ruin her imagination, but there is no need to believe such persona exist in real life either. If there is one persona I may pretend myself to be, it's gonna be the tooth fairy. And I'm pretty sure her tooth fairy only brings toothbrushes and toothpaste. Oh, maybe floss too.
Anyway, back to what we were saying... Oh yes, we went to Great America. A family friend invited us to her company's Christmas event and the kids have a blast!
Selfie before the gate opens. And I love the picture of her running in the wind with the shadow of the words "Great America" cast on ground.
There were crafts for the kids to do while waiting to make a bear.
I don't know why BB was making a face when working on the Santa sticker craft but it sure looks cute.
PK and her white bear, Teddie.
BB and his brown bear, Brownie.
Love it how she insisted the bow tie becomes a head band for Teddie. And, Teddie is a girl.
Although there was no rides, the lines to make a bear and see Santa were both very long, we had some cozy fun just being together indoors on a windy but non-rainy afternoon. Thank you K for the invite and spending the lovely afternoon with us.
